Desperate attempts to marginalize the GPC Party from the Yemeni arena

On the sidelines of the Riyadh dialogues that are taking place for more than a month to form the government of Dr. Moeen Abdul-Malik and based on the decisions of the Riyadh Agreement, a group of leaders of the General People's Congress (GPC) met Wednesday evening at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Riyadh at the invitation of Sheikh Sultan Al-Barakani, Speaker of Yemen Parliament, Assistant Secretary General of the (GPC) and Dr. Ahmed Bin Daghr The vice president of the (GPC).

According to the sources, the meeting was attended by Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi, who introduces himself at the Riyadh meetings as Secretary General of the (GPC) without any legal justification or even election or approval, and he derives his support from the vice president affiliated with the Brotherhood, the General Ali Mohsen Al-Ahmar, and from the businessman well-known Ahmed Al-Eisi and the Islah Party in general.

The meeting was for the purpose of presenting the names of the candidates to fill the four ministerial portfolios that came from the share of the largest party, (GPC), popularly, in parliament and at the level of Yemen. According to the sources.

During the meeting, which was also attended by Sheikh Muhammad bin Naji Al-Shayef, Advisor to the President of Yemen, member of the GPC, and Sheikh Othman Hussein Mejali, Minister of Agriculture, member of the GPC Committee, Al-Shayef and Mejali objected to the method and mechanism through which some try to trade on the GPC, its position, location and importance, and they demanded the disclosure of the mechanism that was used to distribute the ministries among the participating forces, as the ministries that Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi and Bin Daghr brought are marginal ministries identified by the GPC's opponents.

After a strong-worded rebuke from Sheikh Muhammad Al-Shayef, the meeting was over, and part of those who attended did not agree to this meager share. The sources said.
