Houthi militias have intensified their attacks on civilian areas, bridges, and main transport routes in Taiz, employing missile strikes on the western and southern entrances to the city.
The Houthi group has demonstrably expanded its animosity towards the civilians and residents of Taiz through deliberate and concentrated targeting of residential areas, bridges, and primary transportation arteries connecting the city and governorate. This destructive behavior, characterized by blind hatred and a brutal focus on civilian infrastructure, coincides with intense fighting between Yemeni armed forces on various fronts in Taiz and the western coast.
On Thursday evening, the militias targeted the Al-Wazi'iyah bridge with a ballistic missile. This strike, occurring concurrently with fierce military operations in the western Taiz and western coastal fronts, was clearly aimed at disrupting transportation and isolating the city from the coast.
Following this, the militias targeted the Haijat Al-Abd road, Taiz's sole southern artery connecting to Lahj and Aden, with a ballistic missile. At least four civilians were killed and ten others injured in the attack on the Haijat Al-Abd road, underscoring the Houthi's persistent effort to re-impose and tighten the siege on Taiz from the south and west.
