Joint forces from the Giants Brigades and National Resistance have achieved significant battlefield gains in the southern Hodeidah fronts, inflicting heavy losses on Houthi militias over four consecutive days of intense fighting.
In a counter-offensive launched early Saturday, the joint forces advanced in the Saqam and southern Al-Jarrahi axes, south of Hodeidah, pushing beyond the Al-Jarrahi axis. The Iranian-backed militias have reportedly suffered substantial casualties, with their successive waves of fighters facing overwhelming defensive fire and counter-attacks.
On Saturday, National Resistance forces, supported by units from the Giants, liberated the remaining rural areas of Hays district that were under Houthi control. These areas, previously used by the militias to target civilians and residential zones, had remained under their occupation since the district's liberation in February 2015. The Houthi militias targeted the Hays Education Office with a ballistic missile, while military sources confirmed that the city of Hays itself was secured, with the entire rural region now fully liberated and consolidated.
Military sources further indicated that armed forces regained control of areas at the Al-Barih crossroads and advanced towards Houthi positions, which saw militia elements retreating and sustaining dozens of dead and wounded. The forces are continuing to secure liberated areas and consolidate their positions following the complete liberation of Hays district. Additionally, the Resistance Navy thwarted an attack by explosive-laden boats south of Khawkhah and west of Mocha, while explosive-laden drones belonging to the militias were shot down in the Al-Barih axis.
The ongoing battles on the West Coast are seen as underscoring the persistent threat posed by Iran's expansionist plans and its use of influence tools and weaponry in Hodeidah, along the Red Sea coast. These confrontations highlight the immediate challenges and dangers threatening navigation in the Red Sea and targeting the Bab el-Mandeb strait, following the disruption of the Strait of Hormuz. The National Resistance forces are reportedly undertaking crucial roles on behalf of the international community on both sea and land fronts.

In southern Al-Jarrahi, the Houthi militias have suffered severe human and material losses, with intense fighting ongoing. These developments are occurring amidst continued intense battles in other West Coast fronts, including Al-Kadha and Al-Barih, for the fourth day, with the Houthi militias incurring significant casualties.
