The Yemeni Armed Forces, specifically the National Resistance on the West Coast, have called for the activation of "integrated deterrence" as declared by the President of the Presidential Leadership Council. Forces emphasized their ongoing fierce battle against what they describe as Iran's proxies, highlighting the strategic importance of Bab el-Mandeb Strait.
Major General Sadeq Duwaid, spokesperson for the National Resistance Forces, stated in televised remarks on Saturday evening that the West Coast forces are engaged in intense combat operations against Iranian proxies, which he asserted operate under the direct planning and guidance of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps. He underscored that these are not minor skirmishes but decisive battles, as the adversary's objective is to seize control of the Bab el-Mandeb Strait.
General Duwaid further elaborated that Iran's proxies are attempting to isolate the West Coast forces militarily, politically, and through media campaigns. Consequently, he urged for the implementation of the comprehensive deterrence strategy announced by the President of the Presidential Leadership Council, Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi.
The National Resistance reiterated the importance of a unified national objective and a cohesive national battle across all fronts. They stressed the necessity of a responsible and patriotic approach to current events, advocating for unity and encouragement rather than division and discrimination.
In his remarks on the X platform, formerly Twitter, General Duwaid expressed gratitude for the widespread support and honorable stances shared on social media regarding Commander Tarek Saleh and the Yemeni forces on the West Coast. He acknowledged the solidarity shown in ongoing operations against the Iranian-backed Houthi project. However, he clarified that Commander Tarek Saleh is an integral part of the Presidential Leadership Council, and their forces are a component of the Yemeni Armed Forces. Collectively, they represent an indivisible part of the republican front opposing the obscurantist project that serves as an Iranian proxy in the region.
Duwaid concluded by expressing a hope that current events will be addressed with an understanding of a unified objective and battle, promoting cohesion over division and encouragement over differentiation.
