Yemen's Endowments Minister Denounces Houthi Rebellion as Major Corruption, Urges National Unity

Yemen's Minister of Endowments and Guidance, Turki Abdullah Ali Maqawd Al-Wadai, has declared the Houthi militia's armed rebellion a primary source of sedition and instability in Yemen, accusing the group of perpetuating violence, dividing Muslims, and contradicting Islamic principles of unity.

Minister Al-Wadai stated that the Houthi militia has founded its approach on rebellion, violence, and armed insurrection, which he claims has widened the scope of strife, aggressions, and has obstructed public interests and disturbed public tranquility.

He further asserted that "the Houthi rebellion is among the greatest forms of corruption," citing the group's opposition to true religious principles through introducing innovations and superstitions. He highlighted that the militia's actions have resulted in aggressions, blocking of roads, and disruption of livelihoods, emphasizing that Islam was revealed to close the doors to sedition, chaos, and violence, and to urge Muslims to unite and reject division.

Al-Wadai condemned the Houthi militia's use of weapons, mines, and missiles to target civilians, deeming these practices to be in direct opposition to religious tenets that emphasize the preservation of life and the protection of security and stability, while prohibiting the spread of chaos and harm to society.

The Minister of Endowments called upon Yemenis to stand united against the Houthi rebellion, to defend their religion and homeland, and to work towards restoring security, safety, and stability throughout the country. He underscored the critical importance of national cohesion in confronting the challenges that threaten citizens' lives and Yemen's future.
